My entire being Is entirely. Has been entirely, will be entirely, Everything has been here. Back in the days all was good Tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in this petty place Everything stays, one likes to forget, unbiased. Is detached, is all space, is all time, has all been here, for everything is now and tomorrow Tomorrow is everything One likes to forget One can’t remember everything One is supposed to include, exclude, One in my being One Step One Impulse One moment Everything within. My entire being Passes go Passes detached And stays in one space In one step everything can take place. You just have to take it. Everything will always have been possible, And my entire being is everything that can have me in Having had me in Detached from my being In space, in step, in time In a string of words Is everything. We are inbetween Through you, through me, through what we see. Space cannot take steps Space cannot pass go Space cannot stroll, Everything else passes go Is going on Hell is going in, what is going on? Hell is loose, have you seen the news?! Do not patch up the cracks in space Flowers will do, what i will never be able to give me your hand i take you to the beginning before we pass go look at my open palm all that can be offered is lying open for you, and calm Open like space, like tapestry woven for facades lay open what was hidden entirely My entire being, is to be entirely me.

about

The clarinettist, composer and Amadeus Award winner Ulrich Drechsler is a sound seeker!

He is constantly exploring sounds, which he then combines in the three independent sibling projects "Azure", "Chrome" and "CARAMEL" into ever new stylistic combinations. All three are in turn part of his multi-disciplinary music platform LIMINAL ZONE, which has been the umbrella brand for all of Ulrich Drechsler's activities since 2020.

With CARAMEL, he passionately and touchingly incorporates influences from jazz, neo- classicism, minimalism and film music, which have had the strongest musical impact on him in recent years. Ulrich Drechsler seems to move almost effortlessly between all the different genres, creating the CARAMEL experience. A unique, unheard-of overall sound far removed from any pigeonhole thinking.

The main component of this music is above all the highly individual instrumentation of CARAMEL, with which a common language is found through attentive acting and listening at eye level.

Ulrich Drechsler plays with the coloratura soprano Özlem Bulut whose radiant voice floats above the space-filling and virtuoso interplay of the rhythm section. Add to this the celebrated slam poet and rapper Yasmin Hafedh, who is able to juggle words in her inimitable way.

The basis for all this is the highly dynamic trio consisting of double bass player Oliver Steger, drummer Raphael Keuschnigg and Persian pianist Amir Ahmadi. Like a small orchestra, they create the atmospheres, the great soundscapes that characterise CARAMEL.

Ulrich himself mainly plays his favourite instrument - the bass clarinet. With its dizzyingly wide range and an almost infinite variety of tonal nuances, this large, ponderous instrument fills the space between soprano, recitative and rhythm section.

The result is a deeply moving musical story, a soundtrack of emotions that gradually envelops the audience gently. Welcome to CARAMEL!
