BEYOND WORDS is about the subconscious power of sound which goes many times further than the power of words. The intimate trio setting feat. bass clarinet, piano and drums creates touching melodies and spacious, airy sound atmospheres.

On two songs israeli singer Efrat Alony ennobles the music with her warm, deep alto voice.

BEYOND WORDS also marks the beginning of one of Ulrich's most extensive cycle of songs - the "Little Peace Lullabies". Small, chamber music-like declarations of love for beloved people, friends, inspiring people. With his next two albums "Little Peace Lullaby" and "Little Peace Lullaby Part II" Ulrich recorded together with Italian pianist Stefano Battaglia the biggest part of the lullabies.

The album was recorded in the fantastic FWL studios in Leipzig/Germany.
Leipzig is also the hometown of german piano manufacturer Blüthner who supported the recordings with one of their best and unique instruments - a grand piano with a length of more than 3m.

BEYOND WORDS was released in 2012 on the prestigious german jazz label Enja records.
